I did a fair amount of scouting to find the right perspective for the Golden Gate Bridge. There was a bike excursion made to Fort Point, another to a lookout on the Marin side and then I hit the Bridge Pavilion. In the end, it was the photo from the roof of Fort Point that won.

Then, I sketched it up.

This was a really fun project. The Golden Gate Bridge is amazing, the setting is stunning and I’ll never look at it the same way. I could look at it forever!

The “Fern” and “Cedar” screens were created by putting actual plant material down on the emulsion. The detail on both came out as detailed as I could have hoped for. I also love how the cedar has an almost sea-creature appearance. I foresee more of this in the future. Herbs would be nice, right? Flowers? Nature does it better, people.
