I’m still working on art for this year. Last post, I was thinking about using paper as the stencil but that’s so two weeks ago! I’ve moved on. After much experimentation, I’ve developed a new method for making stencils. Well, the method is new to me. I’m sure all kinds of people have already done this. Anyway, I’ve been coating my transparencies with tempera paint, then removing the paint to reveal my design. I’ve also just been painting right on the transparency. The images below will probably explain it better than I can.
Materials used to make this design: tempera, a sponge and a toothpick.
Experiments in negative space. The best part is that if I mess up, I can just wash the transparency and try again.
Close up.
