Burning a screen is all about blocking out light. Lately I’ve been trying to come up with new ways to create stencils. Normally, I draw designs in black ink, then print that image on a transparency. But lately, it occurred to me that there are a lot of ways to block out light. What I’m trying to say is that I’ve had an artistic breakthrough and I’m excited to try out a bunch of ideas. This is the part where I throw it all at the wall and see what sticks.

This is a decorative screen from a hardware store. It will make awesome geometric patterns for me.

The windows of the building are from window screen material. The spire is cut from paper. Then I taped the whole thing on to a transparency.

Wire? Wire blocks out light, right? I guess I’ll find out. If it does, my possibilities just blew wide open.
