Over the summer, I printed a few napkins and tested them at a few craft fairs and markets. The testing went well enough for me to develop a whole line of flour sack napkins. They measure approximately 18″ x 20″ and are on the same quality flour sack fabric that my dish towels are printed on. They sell in matching pairs and are available on either white or natural flour sack cotton in my Etsy shop: http://www.etsy.com/shop/theheated?section_id=14599429
I wanted to create complimentary pairs in case people wanted larger sets of napkins so I went with two trees (Ponderosa Pine and Cedar), two ferns (Rabbit’s Paw Fern and Umbrella Fern) and two herbs (Parsley and Dill). All of these designs were created by using actual plants to burn the screens. The tree clippings were gathered from Grass Valley, which gave me a nice little excuse to get away for a few days. It was really fun to make these designs! Here’s some pictures of the process.
